Immingham Town Council - Vacancy for Assistant Town Clerk

      ITC Pay Scale 13 – 17 £27985 - £30290 pro rata for part time.

      20 Hours Per Week (flexible working pattern by agreement).

      Initially this is a 24 Month Contract with the possibility to extend.

      The Town Council is proud to serve the community of Immingham. To help us deliver our commitments and look for new opportunities, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to work as part of our hard-working team.

      You will need a range of skills to undertake several tasks, including policy development, undertaking research, producing reports, managing projects, conducting consultation, servicing Council meetings, dealing with Councillor enquiries and duties delegated by the Clerk.

      Overview of the role

      Assisting the Chief Officer & Town Clerk in the efficient and effective governance of the Town Council by undertaking a range of activities for the benefit of Immingham:

      • Assist the Chief Officer & Town Clerk in governance of the Town Council

      • Responsible for undertaking research across a range of sources

      • Undertaking consultation using range of techniques

      • Writing new policies for adoption

      • Producing reports and recommendations for the Chief Officer & Town Clerk or Council and its Committees or Working Group

      • Producing spreadsheets that support reports being produced

      • Attending meetings with partners and stakeholders

      • Facilitating meetings such as focus groups

      • Proactive horizon scanning to keep the Council aware of opportunities

      • Servicing meetings as required, attending evening meetings, producing agendas & minutes etc.

      • Updating the Council's website/Facebook page

      • Dealing with customers in person, by telephone and via email

      • A number of general administration activities e.g. filing

      • To undertake training as and when required
